Common Questions Addressed

  • Do you accept insurance?

I am a private pay, self pay provider and do not accept insurance nor do I interact with insurance.  Accessing therapy through insurance  or through submitting reimbursement requests to your insurance can come with many barriers to treatment and greatly impact diagnosis, number of sessions, and especially confidentiality.  I am happy to provide you with several referrals to other clinicians who accept insurance or who provide Superbills for reimbursement.

  • Do you do therapy for teens near Centreville?

Yes, I provide therapy for teens in Centreville, Virginia as well as throughout the neighboring Northern Virginia area. This includes but is not limited to the towns of South Riding, Chantilly, Herndon, Clifton, Fairfax. Gainesville, Manassas, Falls Church, Oakton, and Vienna.

  • When to worry about your teenager?

If you notice significant changes in their sleep, weight, or eating habits, it's a sign to pay attention. Also, if they lose interest in activities they usually love or starts withdrawing from friends and family, it might be time to seek help. These changes can indicate underlying issues that a teen therapist can help address.

  • Can a 13 year old have a therapist?

Absolutely. I work with pre-teens as young as 11 years old. Therapy can equip them with the skills and support needed to navigate the complexities of adolescence. If you notice your teen struggling, it's important to take proactive steps to support their mental health.

  • Can I be a Virginia resident in counseling and work in a school that is NOT in Centreville, VA to receive supervision services?

Yes! I provide supervision services to residents in counseling who are working as school counselors from schools all over Virginia. Current residents are working as school counselors located in Stafford, Loudoun, Fairfax and Virginia Beach counties.
